Welcome! Enjoy the unobstructed view from the center of Augsburg's vast city hall square, the "Rathausplatz". The city's founder and namesake, the Roman emperor Augustus, greets us from atop his fountain pedestal. With an imperious gesture, he points to the impressive Augsburg city hall. Overwhelmingly massive as it rises up from its pedestal, the statue was hewn from a cube. The center, which rises into a splendid gable and is flanked by two mighty onion dome towers, is a typical example of the Augsburg Renaissance...
